A part of me. Coffee and New York
--
A short story
Our throwbacks, those positive flashlights encourage our psychological well-being and increase our serotonin.
I said to myself years ago when I was just a little girl that I will drink a cup of coffee on the streets of New York.. but then the magic happened. After 18 hours of flight, drinking coffees in the airports, and trying to make connections with the people sitting next to me just because I was traveling on my own, finally I arrived in the USA, the country of my dreams. I’ve always wanted to be in New York, even for a couple of days or weeks, and “walking down the streets with my Nike’s on”, with a coffee in my hand admiring the beauty of the city. Now you probably ask yourself why I repeat so much the word Coffee, well.. because today is the international coffee day and I have two materialistic loves: Coffee and New York.
I am a native Romanian girl with an American soul, I said that because my soul wants to achieve a freedom state of mind and the USA is known for the open-minded people and reactions. The freedom to feel all the fantastic emotions.
Actually, free to be myself: to think as I want, but no worries for assuming my actions and emotions.
Depending on your state of mind, you can assume the little things that make you smile and probably, that state of mind will guide you into all the truth. That was what New York taught me, to live my life without what others people may think about me.. but enjoying my coffee in my own company, even if I am in a coffee shop with a lot of people. As human beings, we have purposes, goals to achieve, and drinking high-quality coffee can get you there. You can feel amazing after and the mind can build amazing stories. Just enjoy a coffee in your own company and you’ll see the world more beautiful than you think because you will feel the freedom to step out of your comfort zone and unwanted thoughts. I like to say that drinking coffee and watching people walking by is an important skill. Do it for your soul.
I am a firm believer that you don’t have to miss the daily caffeine dose because you and your cup of coffee don’t find each other by simple accident.
